A 58-year-old man was recently taken into police custody in New Hampshire. Several events reportedly led up to the arrest, including both a car chase and a chase on foot. The situation began to unfold when police were notified that someone had fled the parking lot of a local police department.
Just after 1 a.m., police located a vehicle at a traffic circle, which they believed matched the description of the car they were trying to find. Law enforcement officers claim that the driver of the vehicle noticed officers approaching his car and stepped on the gas to flee the scene. Police say they deployed a device to flatten the man’s tires, but he kept driving.
Police claim driver took off running
Investigating officers say the vehicle traveling on flat tires then entered an empty parking lot, at which time the driver allegedly jumped out of the car and started running. A K-9 unit was employed to apprehend the man. He was then taken into police custody.
Numerous criminal charges have been filed
The man remained in the county jail overnight and is now scheduled to appear in court for an arraignment. Charges against him include reckless conduct, aggravated DUI, resisting arrest and disobeying a police officer. Most accused individuals facing similar charges request immediate legal support to seek guidance and recommendations regarding what type of plea to enter, as well as what defense strategy might produce the best outcome if a particular case goes to trial.
