It was midnight on a recent Sunday when a tragedy occurred in New Hampshire. Even in such wee hours of a morning, dangers often lurk on roadways, especially if there are sleepy drivers at the wheel. It is also an hour when police often make drunk driving arrests. This particular case, a fatal collision, which is still under investigation, involved two vehicles.
One of the vehicles involved in the crash was a motorcycle that was carrying two occupants. The other vehicle was a pickup truck. Preliminary investigations show that the vehicles collided near Merrill and Elm Streets in Manchester. Police have published a notice, asking anyone who might have witnessed the crash to contact the Manchester Police Department.
The impact of the collision resulted in a fatality
As is often the case when a collision occurs between a motorcycle and a larger vehicle, the result of this incident included a fatality. Sadly, it was the motorcycle operator, a 31-year-old man, who did not survive his injuries. The 30-year-old woman who was traveling as his passenger at the time suffered serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for emergency care. The driver of the pickup truck suffered no injuries in the collision.
Finding answers to questions after a fatal collision
Texas investigators typically look for clues to help them determine an exact cause when a fatal collision has occurred. Questions such as whether anyone was speeding or if there are signs that a driver was distracted or intoxicated, etc., are usually part of a crash investigation. If it is determined that driver negligence was indeed a causal factor in a particular collision, a recovering victim or immediate family member of a fatally injured victim may seek restitution in court for damages, especially when a loss of life has occurred.
