2 helicopters responded to New Hampshire collision

Numerous regional departments in and around Londonderry provided rescue assistance at the scene of a recent accident. There were conflicting reports regarding the number of people involved, although it was confirmed that two individuals suffered serious injuries. The incident was a head-on collision, which had disastrous results.

The driver of one of the vehicles was ejected from the car upon impact. Local firefighters in New Hampshire arrived at the scene and went to work trying to extricate the driver of the other car, who was trapped in the vehicle. Ambulance drivers transported both victims to an area that was set up as a landing field for two medical helicopters.

One person suffered life-threatening injuries

The first helicopter to land flew one victim to a nearby trauma center. It was determined shortly thereafter that the second victim would be taken to a hospital for emergency care by ambulance, instead of the second helicopter. Both people suffered serious, life-threatening injuries

The accident occurred on a bend in the road

Investigators are still working to discover exactly what caused the two vehicles to collide head-on. Preliminary investigations showed that the crash occurred as the vehicles were rounding a bend. In the past, many similar cases were later found to have been caused by excessive speed, distracted driving and/or drunk driving. When this is the case, a recovering victim may seek restitution for damages by filing a personal injury claim in civil court against the party whose negligence is believed to have caused the accident.
