Single-vehicle New Hampshire crash was fatal

On Behalf of | Oct 27, 2021 | Personal Injury

Just after 3 p.m. on a recent Friday, a New Hampshire community was struck by tragedy. Unfortunately, there was a motor vehicle collision on NH Route 11. Only one vehicle was involved in the crash, but the impact of the collision caused two fatalities.

Investigators seeking answers as to why the car left the road

A 48-year-old man was behind the wheel of the vehicle when it crashed. For reasons yet unknown to investigators, the man’s car careened off the road and struck a tree. Traveling in the vehicle as a passenger was a 30-year-old woman.

The incident left a community in mourning

Both the driver and his passenger suffered fatal injuries in the crash. The parents of the woman shared many beloved memories of their daughter in an obituary, which stated that she was loved by all, especially the children of her community. The woman had played AAU basketball when she was younger and enjoyed an active life, including collecting antiques and jewelry and being known for giving hugs.

Coping with the sudden loss of a loved one

Learning that a loved one has been killed in a motor vehicle collision is devastating to every New Hampshire family who has lived through such an experience. Grief is often intensified for a family who learns that driver negligence caused the collision that resulted in a fatality. Distracted driving, drunk driving and disregard for traffic laws and safety regulations cause thousands of fatal collisions each year. While there is no way to replace a loss of life, a grieving family may find it helpful to know that an immediate family member may seek financial recovery against the person deemed responsible for a loved one’s death.
